The Office of Campus Security welcomes you to the Bainbridge College community.  The mission of Campus Security is to provide a safe and welcoming environment to enhance the well-being of students, faculty, staff and visitors, and protect all college property.  Campus Security strives to achieve this mission by means of community-friendly approach that enhances safety through the visibility of security personnel, preventive patrols, and 24-hour accessibility.

The Bainbridge College Security Office is located in the Plant Operations Building, Bainbridge Campus. For your convenience and protection, Bainbridge College provides 24 hour, 7 days a week campus security services.

Bainbridge College takes a proactive approach to provide a safe and secure environment for our community.  Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to provide information concerning all aspects of campus safety.

Identification cards_________________________________

I.D. cards are made available to faculty and staff as the need arises. Students may obtain I.D. cards as soon as they complete the registration process.  Student I.D. cards must have current validation sticker.  I.D. cards should be in your possession while on campus.

Parking permits________________________________________________

Parking permits are continuously made available throughout the year.  Vehicles parked on the campus of Bainbridge College must have a parking permit.  Any combination of (5) citations may cause a vehicle to be removed from the campus at the owners expense.  Parking permits are available from the Business Office.

Campus Crime Awareness and Security Act of 1990__________________

In compliance with the Campus Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, Bainbridge College is providing information to you concerning campus security policies and procedures and incidents that occurred on or near campus during the period January 1 2008 thru December 31 2010.

Bainbridge College provides 24 hour, seven days a week  security services; however, all students and employees are requested to assist in the safety of the college campus and facilities by reporting to the Security Department any suspicious events or individuals which they observe on campus. The college will investigate these reports and will maintain a file for each incident reported.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to immediately report any criminal activity that occurs on campus to the Security Department at 229.726.9371.

All college buildings are locked at the end of classes each day or evening and remain locked until the following day.  Faculty, students and staff may obtain access to the buildings by contacting the Security Officer on duty.  Security will request presentation of a campus I.D. card.

The campus security personnel do not have the authority to arrest but are in direct contact with local Public Safety Departments as needed when emergency situations arise.

Alcohol and Drugs___________________________________________

The possession, sale, and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages on college property or at events sponsored by the institution are prohibited. This also includes the possession, sale and/or consumption of drugs controlled by Federal or State Law without valid medical or dental prescription.
Memoranda distributed to students and employees, on an annual basis, describes the drug and alcohol abuse programs made available by the college as required by the Drug Free Schools and Campus regulations.  A description of these programs is also included in the Student Handbook.
